Juliette Marini is a hard worker and strives for excellence in all she does. She always ask for clarification if she is unsure of something and works diligently to complete all of her assignments accurately and neatly. Connor Huntley was chosen as Terrific Kid this month because of his amazing work ethic and ability to persevere. When things get difficult, Connor does exactly what he needs to do to buckle down and complete the task at hand. He has shown this numerous times this school year and his teachers and classmates couldn't be more proud of him in his accomplishments. Way to go Connor! We love you!
Perseverance is THE PERFECT word to describe Urijah Parmeter! He has an amazing attitude toward learning and he understands that we don't always answer a question or problem perfectly the 1st time, that we sometimes have to PERSEVERE and rework until we do an answer correctly… and that is what being a strong student is about!!
Marli Hemphill is 6th grades terrific kid for the month of March. Marli exemplifies the true definition of perseverance. She has the staying power to follow through and exert the effort it takes to achieve her goals. Marli works hard and will do whatever is in her power to overcome any challenges she faces. Congratulations to these Melrose students for being a shining example of an "upstander." An upstander is a person who see something wrong and takes positive action to make it right. They will do all they can to protect and support anyone who is being treated unfairly or intentionally hurt. Congratulations to each of these students!
Mrs Johnston's Terrific Kid for February is Iah. Iah is extremely caring towards all people and animals. Alexander Mosley shows an enormous amount of empathy and caring every day in our class. I can always count on Alex to lend a hand when one of our classmates has trouble. Kaleb Collins really does care about his fellow classmates. I have noticed that he gets the work for others when they are absent, and this is a job he earned without being asked. He always looks out for someone that might be left out of something. He makes sure everyone gets a turn, he is a second set of eyes making sure everyone gets a fair shake, not just himself. He is first to offer to share with his classmates and he is really concerned about others and genuinely cares. I want to thank you, Kaleb for your kind and generous heart!
