We are proud to announce that we have met our quarter 1 attendance goal of 90%. The average daily attendance for the first 9 weeks was 90.6%. To celebrate this accomplishment, Jenkins Elementary will host a glow party for all students on October 24, 2023, during the early release day.

Jenkins Elementary is looking for approved volunteers to help build up our mentoring program in our school. We are looking for coaches, organizational leaders, church leaders, and business owners to be a part of this exciting new adventure. If you are interested, please contact our front office and ask for Lacey Hawk and/or Georgette Mills.

Tomorrow is our Terrific Kid and Student of the Quarter ceremony. If your child is a recipient, you are welcome to attend. The ceremony is at 9:00 am in the cafeteria. Please make sure you sign in at the cafeteria entrance from the parent pickup loop.

We are excited to announce that our students met their first goal in their Accelerated Reader (AR) points as a school. The goal when reaching this milestone was to have a character dress up day.
Friday, Oct 27, 2023, students will be allowed to dress up as their favorite book character. Please no mask or hoods that cover the face. This will also be the day we are doing the fall festival and finishing our Red Ribbon Week Celebration. Lot's happening at our school. Stay tuned for more announcements.
We are excited to announce we are going to be doing a mini fall festival for our students on Friday, October 27. You can help us by donating candy for the booths. If you are able, please send in an unopened bag/s of individually wrapped candy. We have over 800 students and approximately 15 booths that will need the treats.
Kona Ice will be at our school on Oct 19. We ask that you pay ahead if possible as this is easier for the students and the staff.

Our 1st Grade had the opportunity to host an event for our officers in the west end of the district. Thank you to all of our officers who serve.
We had a fabulous Open House and Title I meeting on Tuesday. Thank you to all the parents and students who came out and thank you to our staff for opening up the school for all.

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day
Next month, on October 28th, 2023, we will have three local drop-off locations in our area, open from 10AM to 2PM :
Interlachen Location: TMT Auto Clinic, 1117 SR-20
Crescent City Location: Winn-Dixie, 1115 N. Summit Street
Palatka Location: HCA Putnam, 611 Zeagler Drive
Unsecured, unused or expired prescription medications can lead to accidents, misuse, addiction, and pose serious risks to our students. We would like to encourage parents and guardians to: Locate and securely store their medications at home, ensuring they are out of reach of children and adolescents & Identify and dispose of any medications that are unwanted or have expired dates.
Consent for Flu Vaccines were sent home. The deadline to return the completed form is Friday, 09/29/23 if you are interested in your student receiving this service.
