96 % of our 5th Grade Students showed growth in one or more areas of testing at the end of this school year. We are incredibly proud of them all. A huge thank you is sent out to our 5th Grade Teachers who made a point to celebrate these students in a very big way. The students truly had a "rockin" good time"!

Tomorrow and Friday (May 28 & 29, 2026) are 1/2 day early release days. Please make sure you are at the bus stops 3 hours and 15 minutes earlier than normal. All students should be picked up at 11:20.

Friday, May 29, 2026 is the last day of our 2025-26 school year. Have a fantastic summer and please be safe. We will see you in August for our 2026-2027 school year.

We wanted to let our families know that report cards will now be accessed online via your family's Skyward Account. We will no longer be sending home paper copies. As we move forward in the digital age, please know you have access to your child's information at all times. We hope you all have a safe and relaxing summer.

It's rare, but occasionally we have students who reach a milestone of perfect attendance in a school year. This year we had 7 students and they were treated to an amazing day in St. Augustine with Mrs. Roark--our Attendance Boss. When they returned to school this afternoon, they couldn't wait to tell us about their day at Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum and their lunch. Congratulations to these outstanding students. And a great big Thank You to Mrs. Roark. I wonder what next year's reward will be?

Today, the Pre-k students from Mrs. Gilbert's and Mrs. Richardson's class had a promotion celebration. This milestone is always such a treat to watch.

Today, we were able to celebrate some very TERRIFIC KIDS and STUDENTS OF THE QUARTER. We are so happy to promote our students who make a positive impact on their teachers, peers and community. Parents, thank you for always promoting the good in your children. We appreciate you all and can't wait to see the success of these individuals. Thank you to the Interlachen Town Council and the Azalea City Kiwanis for sponsoring these amazing awards.

Alright everyone, our 3rd and 5th Grades will be completing their progress monitoring tomorrow, Tuesday, May 5, 2026 and Wednesday, May 6, 2026. We know our students can do their very best. Let's do this!
Make sure our child is on time!

WOO HOO! Our students have been working hard and we want them to know they deserve some fun. Friday will be a fun day for our entire school. We ask that each student make sure they have a water bottle for the day because they will be participating in some outside events. Also, it is acceptable for students to wear hats while they are outside and we suggest shorts (school appropriate) and closed toe shoes.

Next week our 3rd-6th grade students will begin their PM3 State Testing. Please take a look at these letters to familiarize yourself with expectations.
It is very important that all students are here on time each day of testing.

There are not enough thanks for our community when it comes to our students Today we would like to recognize Paislee and Tinley Guessford at Interlachen Nutrition for giving every one of our girls a bag of snacks and treats for the first 5K of the year for our Girls on the Run! Don't forget to always support local!

We are so proud of our Girls on the Run. They meet each week during our 21st Century After School Program and we couldn't be more proud of this club. The girls and their coaches participated in their first marathon this weekend. We are amazed at your tenacity. Thank you to all the families that supported these girls as well as our awesome coaches Jamie Runyon-Hiers, Dakota Brock and Jen LaJoie.

On Monday, our staff was able to kick off the week for our Kg-2nd grade students as they begin their PM3 State Testing. We hope they enjoyed it and we hope they knew how much confidence we had in them each day of their exams.

On April 17th, we had the opportunity to welcome next year's kindergarten students and their families at our school for a fun morning built around registration. If you missed the chance to register your child for school, you can meet us at CLO center on May 5th at 5:30 or you can stop by the school between 8:00-2:00 pm.

We have made it to the point in our school year where our students can show all their hard work can and will pay off. This week, our Kg. -2nd Grade students will be completing the STAR PM3 in both Reading and Math.
You can assist your child to prepare for testing by doing the following:

1. Make sure your child gets a good night's sleep before a test, and make sure your child eats properly the day of a test.

2. Maintain a pleasant home environment and avoid unnecessary conflicts. Try to make the morning of the test a pleasant one. Do not add to your child’s stress.

3. Make sure your child has taken any needed medication.

4. Ensure that your child is present during testing (children generally perform better when taking tests in their groups rather than at a make-up time).

5. Get your child to school on time the day of the test.

6. Wish your child good luck each morning of the test. Tell your child that he/she is special and that you believe in him/her!

7. Remind your child the test is important. Encourage him/her to do his/her best.

8. If your child is too ill to attend, please call the school office.

9. If the test is on a subject for which you can review (spelling test, math facts, etc.), help your child go over the material.

10. Remind your child to listen carefully to the instructions from the teacher and to read the directions and each question carefully.

11. Explain to your child the importance of using time wisely. If your child gets stuck on a question, encourage him or her to make the best guess and move on.

12. Tell your child to attempt to answer all of the questions and not to leave any blank.

13. Encourage your child to stay focused on the test, even if other students finish early.

This Week:
Monday and Tuesday: 1st Grade, 2nd Grade and Mrs. Railing's Kg Class will test.
Wednesday and Thursday: All other Kg. Classes will test.

The fun day for our upcoming Kindergarten students is almost here. If your child will be entering Kindergarten for the 26-27 school year and live in zone for Jenkins Elementary, we invite you to visit us this Friday, April 17 at 8:15 in our cafeteria. Students will have an opportunity to experience a little glimpse into the day of a kindergartner at our school. As a parent, you will get to see the kg. classrooms, how we walk to busses and/or parent pickup, complete all registration packets and watch your child interact with the kindergarten teachers. Every student will receive a free bag with resources and a free book. Please see the flyer for what you need to bring with you. We encourage you to come right at 8:15 to sign in so your child can experience the entire process. We will shut down at 10:15 as we have to prepare for lunches. Parents, be prepared to sign in with your ID.
