Title I – Improving the Academic Achievement of the Disadvantaged
The Title I Grant provides additional funds that are allocated towards: the hiring of additional teachers and instructional staff, equipment and supplies, staff development activities, tutors, parent and family engagement activities, and a district-wide Parent Involvement District Advisory Council (PIDAC).
Title I, Part C – Approved Application 2025-2026: Education of Migratory Children
Title I, Part D – Prevention and Intervention Programs for Children and Youth who are neglected, delinquent, or at-risk.
Title II, Part A – Supporting Effective Instruction
Title II, Part A provides resources to local educational agencies (LEA) to support activities for recruitment, development and retention of teachers, principals and other school leaders. These funds help to improve the quality and effectiveness of teachers, principals and other school leaders in order to increase student achievement in a way that is consistent will the challenging State academic standard.
Title III – Language Instruction for Limited English Proficient and Immigrant Students
The purpose of Title III is to help ensure that English learners (ELs) attain English language proficiency and meet state academic standards. Federal funding is provided through various grant programs to assist state education agencies (SEAs) and local education agencies (LEAs) in accomplishing this.
Title IV – Student Support, Academic Enrichment, & 21st Century Schools
The Title IV Grant is a conglomeration of over 20 grants that were previously authorized as part of No Child Left Behind. The grants under the umbrella of Title IV are called block grants. The purpose of the Title IV Student Support and Academic Enrichment Grants is to improve student access to a well-rounded education by improving school conditions to optimize student learning, as well as improving the use of technology in order to increase academic achievement and digital literacy of students. The 21st Century Community Learning Center program is currently the largest block grant program in Title IV. The propose of this program is to provide monies for afterschool programs serving students in low-performing schools. These programs are run by schools and/or community organizations in partnerships. 21st Century Programs can also serve children before school and in the summer months.
Title V, Part B – Rural Education Achievement
The purpose of Title V, Part B is to allow state and districts the flexibility to target federal funds to the programs and activities that most effectively address the unique needs of states and localities. Title V, Part B, is designed to help states and districts meet the unique needs of rural school districts. This ensures that the principals and school leaders working with rural populations have funding so that teachers, school personnel, and students get the extra support they need.
Title IX, Part A – Florida McKinney-Vento Program
Title IX, Part A established the McKinney-Vento Education for Homeless Children and Youth Program. The program is designed to address the problems that homeless children and youth have faced in enrolling, attending, and succeeding in school. This program, ensures that homeless children and youth have equal access to appropriate public education.
