U.S. News & World Report Ranks Q.I. Roberts Jr. - Sr. High School among Best High Schools

June 14, 2022 – Q.I. Roberts Jr. - Sr. High School took the top spot among Putnam County high schools for the third year in a row in the recently released 2022 Best High Schools by U.S. News & World Report. Q.I. Roberts Jr. - Sr. High School has been ranked number 5,485 in the nation and number 292 in Florida. The rankings evaluate more than 17,800 schools at the national, state and local level.

“We are all very pleased to be recognized once again for this honor,” Joe Theobold, Principal, reflected on receiving the news. “We continue to push to be the best High School in the State by increasing our performance on State, National, and International exams. Our students and families understand the importance of education and have risen to the challenge of reaching the highest standards in all that they do. The ranking does not take into account our Cambridge AICE Exams, so our ranking would even higher, but we are happy to exchange those points for the rigorous and prestigious curriculum we teach.”

The methodology focuses on six factors: college readiness, reading and math proficiency, reading and math performance, underserved student performance, college curriculum breadth and graduation rates. For the first time, science proficiency and performance was also incorporated into the methodology for schools in all states except Arizona, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Michigan and Tennessee.

"The Best High Schools rankings take a comprehensive approach to evaluating schools," said Eric Brooks, principal data analyst at U.S. News. "Looking at factors like graduation rates and underserved student performance, families can use this information to learn more about their local schools."
