PCSD proudly celebrates 25 graduating seniors who successfully completed the Take Stock in Children program and were recognized during a special ceremony held May 7th at the Putnam County Fairgrounds.

These remarkable students earned their scholarships through years of dedication, perseverance, and commitment to their future goals. Throughout high school, Take Stock in Children scholars participated in college readiness activities, met regularly with volunteer mentors, and completed professional college coaching sessions designed to prepare them for life after graduation.
During the celebration, each student received a Take Stock in Children medallion to wear during graduation ceremonies. Most importantly, graduates were awarded a 60-credit-hour college tuition scholarship through the Florida Prepaid Foundation, helping provide a pathway to continued education at a Florida college, university, or technical school.
“This program continues to change lives by giving students the support, encouragement, and resources they need to pursue their dreams,” said district representatives. “We are incredibly proud of these students and all they have accomplished.”
The Class of 2026 Take Stock in Children graduates plan to continue their educational journeys at institutions including St. Johns River State College, Daytona State College, Santa Fe College, University of North Florida, Florida A&M University, University of Florida, First Coast Technical College, and Polk State College.
A special Outstanding Mentee recognition was presented to Carter Crews alongside mentor Marlene Ogle for exemplifying leadership, growth, and dedication throughout the program.
