The Putnam County School District proudly celebrated a historic milestone on Tuesday, April 28, with the official ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Palatka Intermediate School.
District leaders, School Board members, staff, students, families, community members, and project partners gathered at the new campus on Horseman Club Road to commemorate the opening of the state-of-the-art school and celebrate a shared vision becoming reality.

The ceremony recognized the collaboration, commitment, and community support that helped bring the project to life and marked an exciting new chapter for students in Putnam County.
“This is more than just a new building,” shared district leaders during the ceremony. “This school represents opportunity, innovation, and our continued commitment to providing the very best learning environments for our students and staff.”
As the district’s first new school constructed through voter-approved bond funding, Palatka Intermediate School stands as a symbol of progress and investment in the future of education in Putnam County. The campus was thoughtfully designed to provide students with modern learning spaces, enhanced safety features, and opportunities for collaboration and growth.
Guests attending the ceremony heard remarks from district and community leaders before participating in the official ribbon cutting and touring the new facility.
The Putnam County School District extends sincere appreciation to the voters, School Board members, district staff, architects, construction teams, community partners, and supporters who played a role in making this vision possible.

With students at the center of every decision, the opening of Palatka Intermediate School reflects the district’s mission of Shaping the Future and creating learning environments where every student can thrive.
