Taste the World

To recognize the National School Lunch Program, which serves nearly 30 million children each day, PCSD celebrated National School Lunch Week October 13–17, 2025.

This year’s theme, “Taste The World: Your School Lunch Passport,” highlighted the importance of healthy school meals to student success both in and out of the classroom. PCSD cafeterias joined in the celebration by serving up a global lineup of dishes throughout the week, giving students a chance to “travel the world” through food while learning about the value of balanced nutrition.

Menus featured a variety of international flavors each prepared with care by PCSD’s dedicated Food & Nutrition Services team. The themed week brought smiles to students across the district as they sampled new cuisines and discovered that healthy eating can also be adventurous and fun. National School Lunch Week is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our staff’s creativity and to remind families of how nutritious and exciting school meals can be!

The federally funded National School Lunch Program (NSLP) has been fueling students for success for 79 years. Through this program, PCSD’s Food & Nutrition Services team serves thousands of healthy meals every day — ensuring all students have access to nutritious food that supports both learning and wellness.
