As the 2025–26 school year begins, the Putnam County School District is not only welcoming students back into classrooms — we’re also watching two incredible new school buildings rise from the ground! These projects are a visible sign of our district’s commitment to providing modern, safe, and inspiring spaces for our students to learn, grow, and succeed.
Construction on the new Palatka Intermediate School is well underway, and the campus is starting to take shape in exciting ways. From the framework to the finishing touches, each step brings us closer to opening day. – See the latest progress here!
Farther south, a brand-new Crescent City Elementary School is also rising. This new build will provide a modern, welcoming environment for our youngest learners. Every detail is being designed with students in mind. Walk through the progress with us here:
Both schools are on track to open for the 2026–27 school year, and we can’t wait to welcome students into these incredible new spaces. These projects reflect the hard work and dedication of our construction teams, school leaders, and community partners — all working together to shape the future of education in Putnam County.
