Welcome to PCSD Athletics!

Athletics are an important part of the student experience in Putnam County School District. Through sports, our student-athletes build teamwork, leadership, discipline, and school pride both on and off the field.

Whether you're participating for the first time or returning for another season, this page is your hub for athletic eligibility information, required forms, schedules, tickets, and contact information for our athletic programs.

ECG Screening Requirement

Beginning with the 2026–2027 school year, Florida law requires a one-time electrocardiogram (ECG) for:

  • All incoming 9th-grade student-athletes

  • Students in grades 10–12 participating in an FHSAA sport for the first time

Returning student-athletes who have previously participated in FHSAA athletics are not required to obtain another ECG, although one is encouraged. An ECG completed on or after July 1, 2024, satisfies the requirement.

Students may complete an ECG through their healthcare provider or at a community screening event when available.

Athletic Eligibility

All student-athletes must meet the eligibility requirements established by the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) and the Putnam County School District before participating in practices or competitions. Requirements may vary based on a student's grade level, enrollment status, transfer history, or educational setting.

Most student-athletes will be required to submit:

Additional eligibility forms may be required for certain students, including those who are homeschooled, enrolled in PEP, transferring schools, participating through non-traditional educational programs, or requiring additional medical documentation.

Visit the FHSAA website for the latest eligibility forms and requirements, or contact your school's Athletic Director for assistance.

Non-Enrolled Students

Students who are not enrolled full-time in a district public or public-charter school may be eligible to participate in athletics under Florida law, however, athletic participation fees are applicable for some non-enrolled students.
