Scholarships
Financial Aid
Start with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid application at www.FAFSA.ed.gov to determine how much your family is to pay for your education and how much financial aid you may receive.
You can begin completing the new form in mid September but you will not be able to submit until October 1 the year prior to attending post-secondary education.
You must use income tax information two years prior (read the guidelines should you fall into another category to complete the FAFSA) and update before the May 15 deadline.
Federal Guidelines change often on how the money is to be spent on college education, make sure you refer to the website often for the latest information.
If you plan to take Dual Enrollment classes meet with a DE counselor at the college you plan to attend for post-secondary education, to help you plan your courses, to assure they will meet your program requirements and FASFA will cover the cost of the courses. This will help assure you will not be taking courses that will prolong your educational goals and end up costing you more MONEY and TIME!
