Who are School Psychologists?
School psychologists are specifically trained in the psychology of learning and child development, as well as social-emotional and behavioral adjustment. They are often part of school-based intervention teams and IEP teams. They work closely with teachers, parents, and students to ensure the needs of each individual learner are met. School psychologists support students in a variety of ways, including assessing intellectual, academic, and social-emotional strengths and weaknesses; consulting with parents and teachers regarding school-related problems; and assisting school personnel in developing classroom strategies and interventions to improve learning outcomes.
