✈️ The Q.I. Roberts Jr.-Sr. High School Flight Simulator Lab celebrated its official ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, February 27th, marking an exciting milestone for the school and the Putnam County School District. The state-of-the-art lab houses a total of 13 flight simulators, offering students a unique and immersive opportunity to take their learning to new heights.
The simulator lab allows students to go beyond learning about airplanes — they get to experience the thrill of “flying” them. By putting classroom lessons into practice through hands-on simulation, students gain a deeper understanding of aviation concepts. The advanced equipment can even simulate local airports, such as the Palatka airport, giving students the experience of flying close to home. With limited funding available for actual flight time, this lab offers an invaluable way for students to log more hours “in the cockpit” without ever leaving the ground.

100 is open and traffic is flowing. FYI

This staff member dreams of visiting Fiji for its beautiful beaches, but when not capturing stormy beach scenes with a camera, you’ll find them reflecting on the fact that everyone has a story and it’s okay to be different. They're also a fan of Creedence Clearwater Revival and Staind, and their life goal? To travel the world and take more pictures. When it’s time to relax, a swim is the perfect way to unwind. And yes, they still love dressing up for Halloween just as much as they did as a kid!

This staff member dreams of visiting Disney in Paris, but when not planning a magical trip, you’ll find them vibing to Limp Bizkit, Jelly Roll, or Post Malone, and enjoying Reese’s and Pepsi (a classic combo!). They play the flute, love all things '80s and '90s, and when it’s time to relax, you’ll catch them on the couch playing with their dog.
