As May rolls on, schools across Florida are immersed in state testing—but at Q.I. Roberts Jr/Sr High School, the testing calendar is uniquely intense. Alongside required state assessments, students and staff are also navigating a full slate of AICE and AP exams, all while celebrating the milestones and achievements that mark the end of a successful school year.
By the time the final bubble is filled, Q.I. Roberts will have administered nearly 3,000 exams. That includes approximately 200 AP exams, 1,600 AICE exams, and more than 1,000 state assessments in math, science, English, and social studies.
While official state results won’t be released until June, early reports show encouraging signs. We’re proud to share that 88% of our 7th–10th grade students passed their ELA FAST assessments, with no grade level falling below 82%. Notably, 9th grade students posted a 20-point increase over last year. These results represent a strong step forward toward our goal of being ranked among the top 10 middle-high schools in the state of Florida.
In math, 87% of students passed their FAST or EOC assessments, with Algebra 1 scores jumping 28 percentage points over last year among a similar-sized cohort. Science proficiency came in at 83%, and Social Studies at 86%, reflecting the hard work of students and teachers across the board.
We expect to receive AP scores in July and AICE results in August, and we look forward to seeing how our students’ efforts pay off. As always, we are incredibly proud of our students and staff for their dedication, resilience, and commitment to academic excellence. The future at Q.I. Roberts is bright!
