Tomorrow evening April 21st, we are officially retiring the jersey of one of the greatest softball players ever to wear the blue and gold at PJSHS, our own Ms. Katie Hanstein(formerly Brosky).

To recognize this occasion, her jersey has been painted on the side of our home dugout(THANK YOU Ms. Horne & the Art Dept), and she will be throwing out the first pitch in our final regular season home game vs. W. Nassau at 6:00 PM.

If you don't already have plans, please join us tomorrow evening in recognition of this tremendous accomplishment.

CONGRATULATIONS Ms. Hanstein !!!!

Today we celebrated an outstanding achievement for one of Mrs. Fales’ ceramics Panthers. Charlotte Scranton's sculpture was recently accepted into the National K-12 Ceramic Exhibition AND was awarded the Bailey Pottery Equipment Award! “Charlotte is actually the 3rd student in a row I have had whose work has been chosen, but my very first award winner and I am so proud of her”, says Mrs. Fales.

We want to celebrate our school Librarian/Media Specialist, Mrs. Debra Gastelum, whose talents and skills we could not do without at PJSHS! Mrs. G. takes care of our literacy needs with a beautiful media center stocked full of high interest student materials, computers, and room for teachers to bring entire classrooms of students in to explore and research. Her monitoring, maintenance, and distribution of over 1,000 student devices is another feat in itself! She's also trained a wonderful student staff who assist her throughout the day as well. Please don't skip our media center upstairs whenever you visit our campus!

Our Palatka Jr-Sr High School Assistant Principal team is committed to meeting student needs and achieving school-wide goals together. With more than 100 culminating years of experience serving students and families through various educational roles right here in Putnam County, we have a vested interest in our community to support and prepare our Panthers for future success in whatever path they choose.

Our leadership team of APs also confidently coaches and supports our teachers and staff at PJSHS. Through intentional planning and collaborating together, our team is able to seek out, promote, and celebrate the accomplishments of all Panthers as often as possible. While this year is wrapping up soon, our work together has only just begun! Let’s Go Panthers!

The Panther Battalion hosted its first annual successful Tunnels to Towers Run in downtown Palatka. This partnership supports local first responders in remembrance of 9/11. Our Panthers put together a solid plan and navigated the logistics to conduct what we expect to be a growing event for years to come. We appreciate the efforts of our local officials, emergency organizations, and PJSHS staff and students for their united efforts in this event.
