Applicants for administrative positions with the Putnam County School System are expected to submit a performance portfolio along with their application.
The portfolio will be reviewed and scored by a screening committee composed of practicing administrators. The committee will then rank the applicants for the final interview. Depending on the number of applicants only the top candidates will be selected for an interview. It is important that your portfolio be complete and a positive reflection of your experience and training. From the materials provided in the portfolio, the committee will assess each applicant in the following areas: qualifications, experience, training, recommendations and references, performance sampling and the overall content of the portfolio.
A complete performance portfolio is expected to contain but not be limited to the following:
1. Letter of intent:
This letter should be job specific to the position for which the applicant is applying and provide the committee with a brief overview of the applicant’s preparation relevant to that desired position.
2. A completed Putnam County Application packet containing:
A complete District application form including qualifications , (3) Putnam County School District Reference Forms, Security Background Check form, Mission Statement, updated copies of the applicant's Educator and Educational Leadership Certification and official transcripts from Accredited Colleges or Universities.
3. Letters of Recommendation (at least 3) - from supervisors, peers or colleagues:
These letters should specifically address the applicant’s suitability for the position for which he/she is applying.
4. Performance samples (should include at least 3 of the applicant’s most recent employee evaluations):
Examples: Previous evaluations, observations, scores on certification exams, Principal
Perceiver ratings, reference to special projects.
5. Administrative/Leadership Training:
Submissions should include relevant trainings to administrative functions (i.e.…formal observation trainings, teacher interviewing trainings, employee conferencing, classroom walkthrough trainings etc…)
6. Performance Portfolio of additional materials relevant to the applicant’s previous accomplishments as an educator or educational leader.
