Students at Kelley Smith Elementary School have enjoyed reading Halloween themed books in their media center classes.

One book they particularly loved was the book, “Where’s My Mummy?” by Carolyn Crimi.

After reading the book, the younger students worked on sequencing activities by making a flow map of the characters while also enjoying art by making Baby Mummy.

The older students did an activity called Filling the Silence.

In this activity, students watched the book on video without sound. They then worked in groups to come up with the dialogue they felt the author would have used for the characters.

After reading their version of the story they watched the book video with sound. They enjoyed comparing the different point of views.
