Bartram Frolic is Coming to Putnam!

St. Johns River Bartram Frolic is Coming to Putnam.
Posted on 09/18/2017
The Bartram Trail in Putnam County, Putnam County, and the City of Palatka are organizing the St. Johns River Bartram Frolic. The dates are September 29, 30 and October 1, 2017. This is meant to be a festival for the community celebrating our National Heritage River and the Bartram National Recreation Trail. This is a non-profit, community-powered event.

While Friday night is a private party reserved for volunteers, living history actors, vendors, invited media, and other special guests, Saturday will be open to the public along the riverfront with kayak excursions, food, vendors, informative exploration booths, educational youth activities, special artists, boat tours, and live local folk music performances, and an evening street party 'frolic'. On Sunday we will feature our symposium on Bartram's Travels, as well as boat tours, kayak and bike excursions, and three special art exhibitions - one featuring life-sized prints of Bartram's works, many unpublished, used with permission of the London Museum of Natural History, and two others featuring local artists' nature-based work. This will be the first river-centered event featuring the new Pride of Palatka tour boat and facility as well as the new riverfront Puc-Puggy playground.

We would like to invite you to join us in this celebration as we host the first of hopefully many years of successful St. Johns River Bartram Frolic celebrations on Palatka's beautiful riverfront.
